The Seton Teaching Fellows Program is a one-year service commitment—with an option for a second—in which recent college graduates work at Brilla College Prep, a high performing public charter school, and also teach at El Camino, an optional after-school faith formation program. As a Seton Teaching Fellow, you will receive incredible classroom teaching experience, professional mentorship, and spiritual formation.
Seton Teaching Fellows are committed to service, professional development, and living simply in a supportive, spiritually nourishing community. Together, the fellows impact the academic and faith development of underserved children in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx, New York, the poorest congressional district in America.

For more than a century, the Congregation of Holy Cross has followed the inspiration of its founder, Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C., to educate the hearts and minds of students at the University of Portland. The Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education is an extension of this vision, serving the needs of Catholic schools in the West by providing dedicated teachers committed to service, professional development and a simple lifestyle in a supportive, spiritually-nourishing community.
While serving, teaching and taking classes, PACErs live in intentional community in groups of three to eight members. PACE communities live simply, experiencing the joys and challenges of serving and working to build shared expectations. They share group expenses and house responsibilities. To affirm and support community life, the PACE coordinator visits each community during the school year and offers community-building opportunities during the summer on-campus sessions.
One of the ways PACE graduate students are invited to build community is through spiritual growth. Many PACErs attend weekly Mass together and participate actively in the liturgical life of their school. As part of their PACE experience, PACErs are provided a cycle of eight retreats. These retreats provide PACErs an opportunity to refresh their spirits as they reflect on their lives and their serving experiences in light of their faith journey. Freed of the stress of teaching and studying, they are given the chance to spend time relaxing, celebrating, praying and exploring together the deeper meanings of the PACE experience.
