The Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon Catholic Committee on Scouting is a committee affiliated with the Archdiocese of Portland Office of Youth Ministry serving Catholic youth and their adult leaders who are affiliated with scouting in Western Oregon. The Committee is dedicated to promoting “Duty to God” at each level of scouting. We are affiliated with the National Catholic Committee on Scouting® (NCCS), an advisory to the Boy Scouts of America, the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire, and Region (12) of the NCCS and NFCYM.
Each year the ACCS holds several events to promote Catholic Scouting. These events include a Boy Scout Religious Encounter, Scouter Development, Religious Emblems Counselor Training, a Youth Religious Emblem Recognition Ceremony, and Adult Recognition Dinner. We are able to accomplish these events, because of the many dedicated leaders that donate their time and energy to providing a quality program.
